Adrian Raymond, a member of Peter Elias and Associates which co-ordinated the event and was responsible for the Magnificent Seven delegates, could hardly contain his joy at the show’s success. Thus far, he revealed, he had only received rave reviews from those who attended.
Raymond, who was the mentor for the Magnificent Seven during their months of preparation for the pageant, spoke highly of his girls and expressed his gratitude for the designers who came all out in providing designs for the delegates as well as for fashion segments during appearances.
“The show was completely sold out,” he said. “We chose to have different fashion segments featuring designs from a host of local designers. One young designer in particular Prem from South, received good reviews. This was basically his coming out event.”
These seven young ladies have dominated the media for the past two months with three – Shawna Maharaj (Miss Chantwell), Kenisha Thom (Miss Dingolay) and Jenna Marie Andre (Miss Brave Dange) being featured in the premier issue of Ocean Style Magazine. The Seven were also present at the launch of Ocean Style magazine on Thursday 19 August at Trotters Restaurant and can next be seen modelling costumes at the launch of the Islandevents.com section in mas band Poison later this year.
The Magnificent Seven pageant will be broadcast on Gayelle TV Channels 7 and 23 on Monday 23 August at 7.35pm. For more information on the Magnificent Seven delegates log on to www.islandevents.com/magnificent7.
