Veteran Rapso artist Brother Resistence

The Festival for Rapso and the Oral Tradition, Rapso Fest, will take place from May 1 -12. The festival, in its 15th year, will pay tribute to Felix Edinborough for his contribution to the promotion of the Pierrot Grenade tradition.

The major component of the festival is the training and development acquired by rapso artists and persons interested in the artform.In the build up to the festival, a series of training workshops will be conducted in April. Participants will be trainrd in the field of performance, vocal presentation, diction and mircophone techniques. In addtion this year will include a number of seminars on issues surrounding the music business.

The workshops, seminars, and demonstrations are being coordinated in collaboration with NALIS (National Library and Information Systems Authority).
