Reggae Sumfest
John Holt and Yellowman will receive Lifetime Achievement Awards for their respective contributions to the growth of the music from the promoters of Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest.

Both were instrumental in carving out a niche on the world stage and solidifying reggae and dancehall as a separate genre of music.

Holt, known as one of the most superb vocalists of our time, will be performing on July 21st at Ignition at Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest and will receive his

award on that night. Meantime, Yellowman, who will headline the Top Ranking night Wednesday, July 19 at Pier One, will be honoured prior to his performance on that night.

Some of the stars from the dancehall's golden era, including Peter Metro and General Trees, will appear along with Yellowman at this event

Both are winners of countless accolades and have a slew of hits affixed to their names. Fans are in for a treat when these two legends hit the Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest stage in July.

Jomo Cato, Director of Marketing of Summerfest Productions, producers of the show, said that it was only natural to honour these two pioneers.

Cato went onto say "Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest chose to recognize the efforts of Yellowman and John Holt, who played a legendary role in the development of our music around the world."
