Wendy Fitzwilliam proud to be pregnant, baby due in June

Former Miss Universe Wendy Fitzwilliam is a beaming mother-to-be.

Fitzwilliam, who captured the Miss Universe crown in 1998, told Island Events she is four-and-a-half months pregnant.

The 33-year-old former beauty queen disclosed she is due in June with her first child.

Fitzwilliam, the manager of Evolving TecKnologies, gave her big news to the students of Corpus Christi College on January 24.

She was at the time giving a motivational speech to the students as part of the Trinidad Guardian newspaper's Guardian in Education Making a Difference project, a series of motivational school tours that also features former World Champion sprinter Ato Boldon and cyclist Michael Phillips.

She told the students, "this is definitely my greatest accomplishment thus far in my life." Fitzwilliam, while not revealing the identity of her partner, said however that they have been involved for the past year. Her partner's father is an Anglican priest she disclosed. "And I am in full support of the CSME," she quipped.

She made it clear to the Guardian newspaper that she doesn't plan to get married to her partner just yet. but that she is happy and very lucky to have a partner who is "committed to me and my child." Fitzwilliams, a self confessed limer, said Fitzwilliam said she doesn't intend to hide him and that who he is will become known as she makes her rounds of parties for the Carnival season.
