Sharlene Boodram has decided to be an example to young people by choosing morality over fame; she says the experience of growing up in the spotlight has made her sensitive to her fans.

Former child star Sharlene Boodram says she is putting morality ahead of fame.

Boodram said she is in no way about to compromise morality for international fame, the 22 year old who's hit single "Sweeta Sweeta" has been enjoying an extended run atop Japanese Dance Music chart, reportedly protested against a revealing photo shoot planned by her new label Universal Japan, in Florida last week.

The shoot was for the Asian re-release of her album “Sharlene, The One.”

The Miami-based singer, who is the daughter of local business man Frankie Boodram, said her experience growing up in music made her more sensitive to the eyes of adoring young fans.
