The Sampson Nanton fallout continues. Laura has been told that the management at CNC3 told the ace reporter that they were giving him the opportunity to save face and requested that he submit his resignation, which he has reportedly done. A sad day for local journalism as this young man really has talent. Also one of the young ladies in the now infamous sex pix with Nanton is the former girlfriend of National Footballer, Angus Eve who some months ago had his own escapades with the young lady. Laura understands that the young woman returned to her parents Carenage home over the weekend and got into a fight with her father, which resulted in dear old dad getting a good old fashioned buss head. Nanton in the meantime does not seem too worse for wear as he was at the Steel Pulse concert at Zen having himself a good time. Unlike many of the patrons, he was not seen taking any pictures of the on stage action with his camera phone.
Laura has heard that the Knowlston Gift affair has much more to it than is being made public. It seems that there has never been much love lost between the "father" of the nation and Old Gifty and the two really began to butt heads some weeks ago. Gift it seems has not been doing much of a job, leaving most of the work to his Permanent Secretary and other assistants while he moves around the cocktail circuit. With elections in the air and the "father" desperately in need of a strong team to take to the polls, he thought it was time to do some spring cleaning and Gift was the first to go. Now Laura understands that there are a few more non-performers waiting for the axe to fall so that way can be cleared for some new blood. The thing is, Laura understands that some of this blood may not be that new after all since there are a couple UNC and NAR people waiting in the wings to join the party.
