Driving Miss Crazy What is it about this media personality? Has she gone crazy? Well my friends say she is more of a media character than a personality, but that the calypsonian would have to be out of his mind to be following her around the place like that. Some people say she following him, but those who know her say she has a way with people – men – they really mean. She could be with a man on the basis of him having a car because she real dependent and always looking for a ride to go everywhere and she has to go everywhere to cover for her failing Sunday edition. So is hard to say who tagging who. See them shopping in HiLo and discussing whether to buy yogurt from Yoplait or Mt St Benedict, you really get the impression they in this thing together for a long time. But my gossipy girlfriend, who I find like to mind people business too much, says it must have something to do with “de way she wine on he.”
The “Others” And so what is it with the continuing drama of the daily newspaper. The latest is that a few good (wo) men are becoming part of its recent hemorrhage. If you missed the talk last week, rumour had it that they wanted to be sure that the who’s who were not becoming the What? Whaaaat!!! You know the old talk was that the paper was getting too “dark” and that that was not the demographics of the readership and circulation – black people they mean. So after the UWI all-inclusive the black people who got in the social pages were monied and had the social graces to match “the others”. Well, since then, one entertainment journalist resigned and the talk in Trinidad is that she finds the whole thing offensive since she and the editor calling the shots have the same issue like so many Trinis – they mixed with “black”! And what is it they say about the media being the watchdog of government and the guardian of democracy?
Jeans and Winer So what if the winer boy wants to wear his jeans tight, tight? That eh stopping him from jumping higher than high. And stop the foolish talk about him being “metrosexual”. Ease up, nuh! People always finding fault – he too young for this, he too old for that, they find that in him and his that in her. Geesh! And decide if the other one gay because I don’t have time for the baseless allegations. Ah mean, what’s in a song anyway?
