Clash of the Telecom Giants goes to St Lucia
Can telecommunications companies bury the hatchet, at least for Carnival, was the question on many minds for the recently concluded St Lucia Carnival.

In the last few weeks, Digicel and Bmobile have signed up a number of St Lucian soca artistes. Digicel, recently announced sponsorship of Nicole David, quickly followed by Bmobile announcing the signing of Alpha, Ninja Dan, Q-pid and Mantius.

Since then concerns have arisen from one of the telecommunications companies about their artist performing in a show sponsored by a competitor.

Alpha and Ninja Dan went on to take top honours in the Bmobile sponsored St Lucia Party Monarch, which resulted in a lot of controversy since Nicole David has been almost non-existent for the almost full Bmobile sponsored Carnival.

(Yuh mean St Lucia and Trinidad in the same boat?)

Red Hummer Riddim
Madman Man Johan has done it again! The ace producer, who is responsible for the Sahara Riddim, recently released the Red Hummer Riddim.

The new riddim, which can be described as a Dancehall/Hip Hop/Soca riddim, features

Bunji, KMC, Mista Vybe & Ms Alysha, Ziggy Rankin, Skinny Fabulous (St Vincent), Slaughter and some of the DJs on Red 96.7FM.

96.7 presenter Hypa Hoppa's tune Super Guy, which he is currently using for his show introduction, samples Seseme Street's Teeny Little Super guy in the chorus and is considered one of the funniest on the riddim.

(But what does the choice of sample really say about him?)

Shawn 'Ma$tamind' Noel
Sheldon Douglas tries the Mastamind touch
Grenadian soca artist Sheldon Douglas seems to have his eye on the prize these days. The former Road March winner is utilizing the award winning skills of top producer Mastamind (Shawn Noel).

Mastamind is responsible for producing Bunji's two Soca Monarch winning songs and Shurwayne Winchester's Groovy Soca Monarch winner Son't Stop.

Of course as if being touched by the Mastmind is not enough the soca artist has also called upon both Bunji Garlin and Shurwayne in an effort to capture his country's top prize.

The already released Put Them Up which features Bunji, has been receiving favourable response and is already on rotation on soca shows internationally, while Wine features Shurwayne Winchester.

(Boy! Well he have to capture something after all that effort. But wait I done hear that he ain't get in but next week for that.)

Another soca artiste prepares to take the plunge
Another top soca artiste seems set to join Bunji, by taking the plunge. The artist who has been in a committed relationship with a young lady who never seems to leave his side, is said to be building his dream house in East Trinidad for his soon to be bride.

Described as smitten, the award winning artist was spotted in Germany during the World Cup cozying up with his love, despite the advances of numerous men to convert the hunk.

Many industry people were kept amused in Germany wantching the hunk run from the advances of many foreigners. (LOL)

When the heartthrob finally announces his engagement many female and male fans will be heartbroken.

(Of course I hope they realize that when you get engaged you dont' need to go around flashing the engagement ring everytime they see another female, "you have the ring already" no need to be insecure - "not accustom is a hell of a thing")
